Tips n tricks:
1. Buy JR Pass (JTB is cheaper than HIS)
2. Decide to rent wifi (both JTB and HIS available approx 100,000 IDR/day or using wifi rental at KIX - some says it's cheaper)
3. Prepare appropriate cloths
For Winter:
- check weather forecast to determine your needs
- jacket
- shirt (for 6 days - max 3)
- long john
- trousers (for 6 days - max 2)
- gloves (leather is more flexible than wool)
- casual shoes or boots (casual shoes is more comfortable for walking than boots - consider to buy boots in Japan is recommended, according to your needs)
- socks (not necessary wool if the weather is not lower than 0°)
- shawl (if necessary)
4. Equip yourself with some places that you wish to visit and how to get there.
5. Prepare for back up plan and activate google maps
6. Get familiar with Japan transportation system (how to determine which line that included in JR Pass, subway, bus, nearest station, adjust yourself with google maps direction especially for walking as people are having different length of steps)
7. Bring your own food as necessary to cut the budget and minimize non-halal food. Snacks could be very expensive. Hard to find sambal and halal noodle.
8. Bring face and lips moisturizer, winter makes skin and lips dry.
9. Excercise regularly. Most of the location requires you to walk.
10. Learn how to use toilet in Japan via youtube
11. Stay overnite at Kyoto - so many tourism spots to visit
12. Check the distance between your accommodation and closest train station, consider your luggage(s)
13. There are lockers in train stations (you'll need to change your money to 100 ¥. Rent a locker will cost approximately 700 ¥/day).
